Our beautiful daughter, Holly Zurek, passed away June 17, 2012. She was born in Denver, Colorado but has been a Phoenician since she was one month old. Holly had a heart as big as her ever present smile, and she touched the lives of so many people. A common expression, many times related, was that Holly’s smile lit up a room. She attended Shadow Mountain High School, where she played soccer and volleyball. She also played goalie on a competitive soccer team for the Shamrock 75.
Holly is survived by her parents, Don and Gretchen Zurek, and her family, her sister Michele Abbuhl, Dean Mattson and Jayden, and her brother and sister-in-law Kevin and Jennifer Zurek and their two beautiful children, Jordyn and Ethan.
Rest in peace our beautiful , loving daughter. You will be missed by all.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations to Phoenix Children’s Hospital will be accepted.

I was Holly's math teacher at Shadow Mountain High School. I remember her as a wonderful, bright and energetic student and person. She was an inspiration to her fellow classmates . . . and to me !!

Just so grateful for the short time that Holly was a part of my life. She made me smile, always lifted me up, just a joy and pleasure to be around and have around. I miss her more than words can express, and my deepest, most sincere condolences goes out to her family. I can only hope and pray that you can take some comfort in knowing how many lives she touched in such a positive way, and that we all share your loss. Much love, Jackie

So very sorry for the loss of Holly, I went to high school with her and always remember her big smile and she was always so friendly. My thoughts and prayers are with Holly and her family!
