Arthur C. Farnham was born April 20, 1921 in Washington D.C. to Ruth H. and Arthur B. Farnham. H e grew up in Washington, D.C. with his two brothers, Lowry and Henry, and spent summers in New Hampshire with his beloved Aunt Daisy (Margaret Joy Farnham). Arthur graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and the University of Maryland, College Park (1943), where he was a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 until 1946, stationed in Adak, Alaska. Arthur’s career as an engineer took him all over the Northeast and Upper Midwest. In 1951, he married Barbara Kimball, who predeceased him in 1968. He then married Rita Creagan, who survives him. He is also survived by children James (Cheryl), Richard (Evelyn), and Jennifer (Stefan), 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. In his retirement, Arthur enjoyed exploring the beauty of the Western U.S., reading, spending time with his family, and following politics. His final resting place will be the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ.
