Benny A. Lucero, DDS
Benny passed away unexpectedly on May 31, 2018 at the age of 67. He was born in Globe, Arizona on February 26, 1951 to parents Benny and Irene Lucero. The family moved to Phoenix in 1960. Benny attended Camelback High School where he was selected as an All-State Center his junior year of varsity football. He went on to Arizona State University, then graduated from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 1976. Benny practiced dentistry in Phoenix for 30 years serving his patients in the Central and West Valley.
Benny was affectionately known as Benjie by his family and close friends. He was a kind, gentle, sincere, private and very spiritual person who loved his family above all else, especially his two sons Henry and Alex. Benny had many talents, as an artist, jewelry maker, musician and songwriter; singing and recording his own songs. In his younger years, he was an avid snowboarder who started in the early 1980s at the inception of the sport. Benny also loved all animals especially his dogs, and had special affection for his Doberman Pincher Champ and Labrador Coalie.
Benny and his family are so very appreciative of Drs. Lawrence Koep and Ester Little and The Good Samaritan Liver Service for their gift of 10 years of precious life.
Benny is survived by his parents Benny and Irene, sons Henry and Alex, ex-wife Deidra Sanchez, brother E. Michael, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews. His presence will be deeply missed by all. A family gathering and celebration of life will be held privately.
