Denise Marie (Green) Lewis, 60, passed away May 29, 2018, at her Chandler, AZ, home after a four-year battle with ovarian cancer. Denise was born in Trenton, MI, on April 30, 1958, to Shirley and Dale Green. She met William Wade Lewis twenty-six years ago on a ski trip to Colorado, married and raised two beautiful children, Brock Nolen Palmer and Benjamin Wade Lewis. Together, the family shared many good and fun times. Denise was an incredibly intelligent, creative, authentic woman, and had such an incredible mind. She had unrivaled passion for education and learning that came through in every lesson she taught and every conversation she had with peers and students. Denise’s smile was captivating and she touched the lives and hearts of thousands of teachers and students she loved at Chandler High over the course of her 30-year teaching career. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, and fishing on the lakes in Northern Arizona with her husband on their boat. Denise will be deeply missed by everyone as she was a positive light to others. She was preceded in death by her father who passed away earlier this year. Denise is survived by her sisters, Cheryl Green McQuillan, Patty Green Hartunian, Sandy Green Warolin, and Annette Green. There will be a small memorial luncheon with family and close friends to honor Denise’s life. Denise’s ashes will be spread by family in the White Mountains.
