Donald C. Weiske

April 16, 1937 ~ July 5, 2019 (age 82)

It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that the family of Donald Clarence Weiske announce his passing on Friday, July 5, 2019, at the age of 82. Don was born at home in Martin County MN on April 16, 1937. Don never met a stranger, and was always ready with a bad joke and a smile. He had a true zest for life and spent many hours golfing, taking the “old folks” out on the pontoon with Let’s Go Fishing, playing cards (even though he pretended to hate it), and making memories with family and friends. Don was a dedicated servant of God; wading through the highs and lows of life with an unwavering faith in our Lord and Savior.

Don met the love of his life, Barb, in high school, and they were united in marriage on October 5, 1957. They started their life together in St. James but moved several times before landing in Hector MN in 1968. Don joined Hector Ag Supply as a partner a few years later.  They lived in Hector until his retirement, then moved to their lake home in Spicer and spent winters in Arizona enjoying their golden years.

Don will be forever remembered and loved by his children, Wendy Weiske, Stacy (Wally Simpson) Weiske, Kris Marcotte, and Marcy (Chad) Jordan, by his granddaughters, Celine Mojica and Samantha Marcotte, and by his step-grandchildren, Laura Jordan, Christopher Jordan, and Tom Simpson. Don will be fondly remembered by his brother, Norm (Gayle) Weiske, and by his brothers and sister in-laws, Marge Weiske, Richard (Karen) Meyer, Donna (Loren) Sternberg, and David (Teresa) Meyer, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years Barbara Weiske, their son Brett Weiske, his parents Elmer and Emily Weiske, and his brother, Kenneth Weiske.

A memorial service and celebration of Don’s life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 1 PM at All Saints Lutheran Church, 15649 North 7th Street, Phoenix, Arizona (www.allsaintsphoenix.org). Donations in memory of Don may be made to Hospice of the Valley in Scottsdale AZ (www.hov.org) or Let’s Go Fishing Wilmar Lakes Area (wilmar.lgfws.com).
