Iris C Pletkovich, 91, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away on April 7, 2018. She is survived by her two loving children, Mary and Terry (Susan), her two granddaughters, Erin (Ron) and Lindsay (Steve) as well as three beautiful great-grandchildren. As a young woman, Iris attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO and worked at her parents’ theatre in Kewanee, IL. In 1953 she contracted the polio virus and spent the next two years fighting to walk again. In 1962 she decided to leave the snowy Illinois weather and move to the warmer climate that Scottsdale offered. In 1985 she was one of the founding members of the Polio Echo Support Group and worked for the next 30 years educating fellow polio survivors and even a few doctors about post-polio syndrome. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, and was a great inspiration to all of us. She lived her life with amazing courage and shared her love with all who knew her. She was a tremendous blessing to the world!
