On Sunday, June 23, 2019, loving wife and mother Jiamei “Maggie” Dong, passed away from cancer at the age of 47 at her home in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Jiamei was born on November 28, 1971, in Tianjin, China, to Zijun Dong and Xiu Ying Song. She attained her undergraduate degree in engineering from the University of Tianjin in 1994, and her MBA from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue in 2002. Jiamei worked for 23 years as an international HR manager and executive for Motorola, Dell, Axway, and Alibaba, in China and the United States. On December 6, 2003, she married Frank Zwecker in Austin, Texas, and had one daughter, Sophie, and one son, Alexander.
Maggie was a person full of life with an infectious smile on her face who always made everyone around her feel good. She was passionate about her family, her work and helping others. Later in life, Jiamei found the time to learn to paint, play the piano, practice her dance routines and improve both her tennis and her golf swings. Well-traveled and smart as a whip with impeccable taste, she was both the accomplished professional and poised lady. She was known as a great friend to many but was most proud to be the mother of her two children whom she loved dearly.
Jiamei was preceded in death by her mother Xiu Ying. She is survived by her husband Frank, her children Sophie and Alexander, her father Zijun, her brother Song, and her nephew Yuyang.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 5 at Messinger Funeral Home in Fountain Hills, Arizona. On Saturday, July 6 at 11:00 a.m. there also will be a memorial service at St. Bernard de Clairvaux Church in Scottsdale, Arizona.
