Robert James Aalbregtse

December 14, 1933 ~ August 10, 2019 (age 85)

    Robert J. Aalbregtse, “Bob”, 85, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away on August 10, 2019. Born December 14, 1933 to John J. Aalbregtse and Maude (Smullen) Aalbregtse in Homer, Michigan.  Bob graduated in Marshall, Michigan, Class of 1952.     On May 2, 1953, Bob married the love of his life, Marilyn “Jo” Buehrer in Marshall, Michigan.     He served 2 years in the Army from July 1953 to June 1955 in Fort Knox, Kentucky.

   Bob worked for Airco Industrial Gases in Albion, Michigan, promoted to Plant Manager in 1971, transferred to Arizona, and 1976 to Johnstown, PA. In 1979 promoted to Regional Production Manager of Eastern Division in King of Prussia, PA.  In 1987 moved back to Scottsdale, Arizona to be with his family and became an independent contractor throughout the United States and overseas building Natural Gas Facilities.

   He was a member of the Elk’s in Albion, Michigan and Scottsdale, Arizona.  He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and fixing anything he could get his hands on.

   Bob is survived by his wife Jo, of 66 years, daughter Karen Aalbregtse in Scottsdale, Arizona, grandchildren Tony, Nicolas, Valerie Aalbregtse, great-grandchildren Brennan and Quinn Aalbregtse, two sisters-in-law Betty (Clyde) Reed in Texas, Ruth (Bill) Kast in Ohio, and many nieces and nephews.

  Preceded in his death by his parents John and Maude Aalbregtse, brother John J. Aalbregtse, sister Catherine Shellenberger, brothers-in-law Mahrle Shellenberger, James Buehrer, sister-in-law Marge Aalbregtse and his son Aaron L. Aalbregtse.

     Services will be at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Family Care Hospice, 7975 N Hayden Rd., Suite A200, Scottsdale, Arizona, 85258.
