Rosemary Terhaar, 95, of Scottsdale Arizona passed away on March 11, 2019. She was born in Kent, Minnesota on May 31, 1923, the youngest of six children. She attended school in Kent until her sophomore year when she moved to live with her sister in Cleveland, Ohio and attended the next two years of high school there. She then moved to Breckenridge, Mn where she graduated from high school.
She attended a secretarial trade school and went on to get her first job in banking. It was during that time that she was named “Miss Northwest of Detroit Lakes.”
She met her future husband Ted Terhaar and they were married on 9/18/1944. They lived the next several years in Rice, Minnesota raising 8 children and while she was pregnant with her ninth child, they moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1962. She became a realtor/broker and managed her own Realty office for the next several years.
Rosemary was an avid sports fan, enjoyed organizing parties and events for her friends, and loved to play bridge. She was an active participant in several bridge groups up until the last few years. She was also a member of the Gamma Gamma Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority. She had been an active member of Saint Maria Goretti Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years. She is survived by her 9 children Ted, Mary, Tom, Tim, Patty, Terry, Debbie, Tony and Barbie and their loving spouses and partners Andrea, Dave, Donna, Chuck, Lisa, Eric, John, MG, and Ron. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and sister in law, Eileen Terhaar of St, Cloud Minnesota.
A celebration of her life with a reception following is scheduled at Messinger Indian School Mortuary on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 10:30 am with Father Peter Kirwin officiating. Private Internment will be at St Francis Cemetery at a later date.
