Susan D. Clark Neidlinger, age 78, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away peacefully on November 3rd, 2019. She was born January 14th, 1941 in Springfield, Kentucky. Susan’s family moved to Middletown, Ohio where she graduated from Middletown High School in 1958. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio in 1962. She continued her education at Arizona State University in 1976, graduating with a Masters Degree in Special Education and Speech Language Pathology.
Susan committed her life to civil service, fighting for the needs of people who cannot help themselves. Susan held various positions for the State of Arizona for over 43 years. She started her career at The Arizona State Hospital as a speech language pathologist. She then continued on in administration for the Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmentally Disabled. She ended her career in Quality Assurance for DDD, specifically working with the group homes for the developmentally disabled. Her decades of work with these group homes led her to create the state-wide Holiday Angel Gift Program to give joy and comfort to the developmentally disabled throughout Arizona.
Susan is survived by her former spouse, Dan L. Neidlinger of Phoenix, AZ and her two children: Beth A. Murphy of Phoenix, AZ and Julie L. Hart (John) of Cave Creek, AZ., as well as four grandchildren, Megan, Laura, John and Jim. Susan will be remembered most for her love and devotion to her family. She was an amazing mother and grandmother and will be missed immensely. The family is holding a private funeral service Saturday, November 9th, 2019 at Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary. A committal service will follow at Paradise Memorial Gardens.
