Obituary

Carl Stevens,87, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away peacefully at Carl T. Hayden VA Hospital on June 11th with family by his side. Carl was born December 11, 1935 in Independence, KS to Orville and Bertha Stevens. He was the 4th of 7 children and graduated from Cherryvale, KS High School. He joined the Air Force and served 20 years, 6 active duty and 14 in the Reserves. He graduated college from San Jose State, CA with BA and MA degrees, and taught English, but most of his career was as a Counselor for San Jose, High School. After retirement and moving to the Valley, he volunteered for Scottsdale Hospital and Sky Harbor Airport as a Navigator. He was also an avid traveler, seeing most of Europe, both by cruise line and ground travel. Carl is survived by his partner Ebbe Falcke, his brother Richard (Phyllis) Kansas City, and 7 nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Messinger Indian School Mortuary on Friday, June 17th at 11:00AM.
