A Life Remembered…

God created the most beautiful life of Cecil Robbin Chandler through the love of Cecil and Dorothy Chandler. He was born on December 3, 1942 in Barstow, California. After traveling with his father’s work, the family settled in Prescott, Arizona where Cecil attended school. In Prescott, he met the love of his life, Phyllis Scarbrough. Cecil and Phyllis married on May 30th, 1963. They were blessed with three children: Kevin, Clint and Jeff. After living and working in Prescott, AZ for a time, they settled in Phoenix, where they lived for over 47 years.

Cecil worked as a Navy machinist, volunteer firefighter, carpenter, Ironworker and City of Phoenix operations and maintenance technician.  When the boys were younger, he volunteered as a scoutmaster. He enjoyed being outdoors- especially hunting and fishing with his family.  He was a family man to the core and was extremely proud of his wife and children. He retired in 2009, in order to care for his ailing wife. Following their retirement, Cecil and Phyllis stayed home to spend time with their children and, most importantly, their grandchildren.

For the last three and a half years, Cecil suffered from vascular dementia and was cared for by Jeff, MaryBeth and their children. In May of 2021, he was blessed with Diana Lopez as an additional person caring for him.  Cecil died knowing that he was loved and cared for.  On January 19, 2022, God called Cecil home. Cecil is survived by his children: Kevin, Clint (Mary Aguilar-Chandler) and Jeff (Mary Beth),Grandchildren: Phillip, Kathleen, Sarah and Samantha Chandler; Savannah Chandler; Ashley Dragan, Harlow and Freddie Aguilar and Great grandchildren: Micheal and Maya Dragan as well as many nieces and nephews.

Cecil was preceded in death by his wife, his parents; and his brothers- Floyd and Lloyd Chandler.
