Gunhild Lockhart departed this life on September 6, 2020, in Scottsdale, AZ, after a courageous 2-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Germany, Inga immigrated to the US in 1980. Aside from being a loving, wonderful wife, and mother to her four children, Inga was also a successful businesswoman, mentor, and entrepreneur, as well as competitive tennis player and expert skier.
In her personal life, Gunhild loved traveling and spent much of her free time exploring the beautiful United States of America, as well as visiting countless countries, including her favorite destinations in the Alps and Italy. From the time she was a young woman up until two years ago when her cancer prevented her from doing so, she was always very active, spending much time outdoors, hiking and exploring, and of course every winter in the mountains skiing. From St. Moritz, Switzerland to Pinetop, Arizona, she left no slope untouched.
She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband Anthony Lockhart; her children and their spouses Iris and Mike Houlihan, Theresa and Kay Herbert, Molly and Thorwald Herbert, Costa and Holger Herbert; her grandchildren Ryan Houlihan, Torin Houlihan, Erin Houlihan, Myles Herbert, Maya Herbert, Xena Herbert, Maximilian Herbert, Isabelle Herbert, and Olivia Herbert; Her great-grandchildren Ulla Herbert-Bryant and Violet Herbert-Bryant; and her friends.
A private memorial service will be held when travel and gathering issues related to the Pandemic are resolved. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Inga Lockhart’s name to either Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014 or the American Cancer Society.
