Jose Roberto (‘Bobit’) Fernandez of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away and rejoined his Creator on May 15, 2020 at the age of 53. Bobit is survived by his parents, Jose and Cielito Fernandez; his 6 siblings, Pauline (David), Jocelyn (Jeffrey), Margret (David), Jose Maria (Carissa), Michael (Jean), and Katrina (Carlos); his nephews Brian (Julia), Mari, Joaquin, and Akio; and his nieces Joanna (Govinda), Lauren, and Alexi.
Bobit graduated from Marist High School and received his Bachelor of Computer Science, summa cum laude, from the University of the Philippines. He then migrated to the United States to pursue further studies, receiving his Master’s degree from University of Illinois and his Doctorate (PhD) from Michigan State University. He worked thereafter as Principal Software Engineer with Next Level Communications in Rohnert Park, California.
His ashes will remain with his sister in the US until he is brought back home to the Philippines where his remains will be finally buried at Loyola Memorial Cemetery.
He will be greatly and deeply missed by his family. Bobit will be remembered as an amazing and loving son, brother, uncle and friend, as well as an incredible human being who left us too soon.
