Judith ”Judy” Ann Jacobi, 79 of Glendale, AZ passed away peacefully at a local skilled nursing facility on June 12, 2022 after living independently with Alzheimer’s disease. Judy was born on June 13, 1942 in Racine WI, graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1960, married in 1963, and moved to Phoenix AZ where she called home. She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Virginia Steiner, and is survived by her sisters Janet Steiner of Ithaca NY, Diane Steiner and Susan Guttenberg of Racine WI, her daughter Jill Brown and son Christopher Jacobi of Phoenix AZ, granddaughter Alexandra Zak of Manhattan KS, grandson, Jacob Brown of Phoenix AZ, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Judy retired from her career in financial services in 2012 and enjoyed part-time work in retail for much of her life. Once fully retired she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. An avid reader, she always had a book or two going and was a regular at the Glendale library. She was an active churchgoer and volunteer at the church thrift store where she enjoyed inventorying and staging books and chatting up customers. Judy was an active supporter of those in recovery warming hearts and cheering others on. As a lover of animals, she supported the AZ Humane Society and gave several cats a loving home throughout her life. Judy had her father’s witty sense of humor and her mother’s gentle compassionate heart. She loved to laugh, always having a funny story or joke to share, and periodically submitted clever and amusing pieces to the local newspaper. Judy lit up every room she entered and made friends everywhere she went.
