Khamson Khoundara, 88 years old, passed away on March 5th surrounded by family in Phoenix, AZ.
Born on June 14th, 1934 in Napong, Laos, Khamson immigrated to the United States with his family in 1978 and settled into the Des Moines, IA area. Khamson worked as a machinist at Townsend Engineering in Altoona, IA until his retirement in 1999. In 2012, he moved to Phoenix, AZ, where he enjoyed swimming, bird watching, the latest electronics, and spending time with his family.
Khamson is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bouakham, along with his son Adisone (Bounyong) Khounphixay of Orlando, FL, daughter Nina (Prasith) Khoundara of Honolulu, HI, son Sack (Beth) Khoundara of Phoenix, AZ, son Misay (La) Khoundara of Phoenix, AZ, and daughter Nini (Justin) Volrath of Phoenix, AZ. In addition, Khamson is Grandpa to twenty-six, Great-Grandpa to another thirty, and Great-Great-Grandpa to two more.
He is predeceased by his parents, Khoun and Ouwn Khoundara, twelve siblings, and two sons, Khamsone Khoundara and Khan Khoundara.
There will be a Buddhist Blessing Ceremony at Messinger Indian School Mortuary Chapel, 7601 E. Indian School Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85251 on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 2pm with a Witness Cremation to follow at our Crematory on the property of our Cemetery, Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 E Shea Blvd. Scottsdale, AZ 85260.
