Obituary

Michael Dwayne Smith, born on August 25, 1963, passed away from cancer on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 58 years of age in Mesa, Arizona.  He was born to Curtis and Dorothy Smith in San Diego, California and was the 5th of 6 children.

Mike graduated from Samuel Morris High School and joined the United States Army.  While in the Army he was stationed at Kriegsfeld Army Depot (Northpoint), Germany and Ft. Stewart, Georgia.  After separating from the Army, Mike went on to become a cabinet finisher.

He is survived by his sons, Chris Speer (Naomi) & Sean Speer (Cassie), his longtime friend Lori Pichon and his two brothers Rick Johnson, and Curtis Smith; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He will be laid to rest  on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 2:30pm at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.
