Reverend William P. Healy, "Father Bill," peacefully passed away on March 7, 2023. He was born on November 19, 1939, to William Healy and Elizabeth Moran Healy of Newark, New Jersey. He attended Saint Benedict's Preparatory School in Newark, New Jersey. He then attended Providence College where he received a Bachelor's degree in Foundations of Theology. Bill attended St. Stephen's College in Dover, Massachusetts, where he received a Master's of Theology and then studied in Rome where he achieved his PhD in Biblical and Theological Studies. Fr. Bill was ordained into the priesthood as a Dominican Priest in 1966 and has served in the Catholic priesthood for 57 years. He relocated to Arizona in 1984 and became a diocesan priest of Phoenix. Fr. Bill served several roles in the Diocese of Phoenix as Associate Pastor and Pastor of Christ the King, Mesa, and Pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Scottsdale. Fr. Bill loved being a part of people's lives at critical moments and offering Christ's love and mercy through Sacraments. His profound love of the mass was felt by all. He was a "Fighting Irish" fanatic and would watch and read about every Notre Dame football game each season. And Lord, how he loved to attend those games. In Bill's earlier years, he enjoyed traveling and immersed himself in the culture of the countries he visited. He retired in 2006, however, continued to celebrate mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation at Good Shepard Mission in New River and Saint Patrick's Catholic Community in Scottsdale. He is proceeded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Edward Wills , Parlin, New Jersey. Fr. Bill is survived by his nieces and nephews: Karen and James Hyde, Tempe, Arizona; Kathleen and Kevin Harty, Chandler, Arizona; Nancy McCarthy, Parlin, New Jersey; Edward Wills, Parlin, New Jersey; and many grandnieces and grandnephews as well as great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 6:00pm and rosary at 7:00pm at Saint Patrick's Catholic Community Church. The funeral mass will be on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 11:00am at Saint Patrick's Catholic Community Church, 10815 N. 84th Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85260. Burial to follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
