The world lost a wonderful man on January 9th, 2022. Dad, Grampi, Great-Grampi, friend, story-teller, world traveler, comedian, confidant and the list could go on. He loved life and people and made friends every step of the way.
Richard “Dick” Fry was a pilot for American Airlines for over 25 years. Prior to that, he served in the United States Air Force and received his Bachelors as a Engineer. It was during that time, as he was installing runway lighting at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport that a jet flew over him and his passion for flying was born. He applied the following day.
He was born in McKeesport, PA and was quite the character growing up. His sister, Joann “Joey” Copeland, kept their parents, (preceded in death) Robert and Helen Fry, on their toes. His wittiness, passion, charm and we like to think good looks was passed onto his 3 children: Kim, Rob and Karen. His many grandchildren and great grandchildren acquired his spunk for life.
Survived by his sister, Joey. His 3 children: Kim (Paul), Rob (Paula), Karen (Mark). Numerous grandchildren (and spouses) and great grandchildren. Step-children and their spouses. Last but not least, his furry companion, Samson
Graveside services will be: Monday, January 17th at 11:00 am. Paradise Memorial Gardens, Scottsdale, Arizona
