Velva Ruth Ball, beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 in Scottsdale, Arizona at the age 34.
Velva was born April 6, 1987 in Phoenix, Arizona. She attended Arcadia High School and went on to attend Arizona State University, where Velva graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Velva was a dancer, teacher, award winning choreographer, artist, seamstress, lover of all people, and a self-proclaimed “eccentric”. She started dancing at 2 ½ years old, competing when she was 6 years old, and eventually transitioned into the role of a teacher and mentor. Velva was extremely gifted with patience and sensitivity, which shined through in all of her endeavors. She was admired by many in how she carried herself with confidence and elegance. Velva had such power and grace on and off stage. She had a heart of gold and could always make you smile. In addition to her many talents, Velva took after her Grandmommy as an amazing cook. At the time of her passing, she was working on her own cookbook.
She is preceded in death by her father Robert, as well as her maternal grandparents Pat and Velva, and paternal grandparents Frank and Mabel. She is survived by her mother Melanie, her twin brother Robert, the love of her life Patrick, as well as many more dear family and friends.
Once in a lifetime a ballerina comes dancing into your life filling it with joy. Heaven has a beautiful dancing angel. Until we meet again, dance with the angels.
In lieu of flowers, it was Velva’s wish to make contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
