Allan Cundiff, 84, passed away on January 3, 2019 at his home in Payson under care of Hospice of Payson. Allan was born in Medford, OR to Ray and Ruth Cundiff, the youngest of seven children. Growing up Allan lived in Oregon and Washington. In 7th grade the family settled in Mesa, AZ. After graduating Mesa High in 1953 he joined the Marines, serving in Korea. Returning to Mesa, he went to ASU, earning a degree in zoology. He married and had three children. After 20 years that union was dissolved. During that time he was a partner in Western Growers chemical company in Queen Creek. In 1983 Allan and Carol (Townsend) were married and moved to eastern Washington where they became apple and cherry growers. There he lived his dream of becoming a farmer for 22 years, retiring to Payson in the last 13 years. He is survived by his wife Carol, four children, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, brother Dick and sister Mary McLain. Services to be held at Messenger Payson Funeral Home on January 12 at 11 a.m. for the family and close friends.
