Reverend Bernt Clifford Larson was born into a musically talented family. As a young boy he would fall asleep to the violin and piano duets of his parents. As a young adult Bernt himself was an accomplished trombonist but sought other avenues as he grew into manhood. Growing up in a Christian home provided the foundation for his desire to serve the Lord. He proudly served our country in the Air Force as a flight engineer for more than nine years.
After completing his education in the seminary, Bernt served as a Lutheran Pastor at several churches throughout Arizona and Kansas. In 2010 Bernt retired from the American Association of Lutheran Churches (AALC) after serving the congregation at Christ Lutheran Church in Ellis, Kansas. With his wife, Dottie, most of his retirement years were spent in Florida where he became an active member of St Michael Lutheran Church. As his health declined, his desire to spend time with his daughter and grandchildren became uppermost in his mind; hence he and Dottie recently returned to Arizona.
Pastor Bernt is survived by his wife, Dottie Larson, a daughter (Christine Prieto), and two granddaughters (Serena Prieto and Sydney Gunn). Other family members include three nephews, two nieces, and a number of cousins.
