Carol M. Greenwald

April 20, 1933 ~ November 5, 2018 (age 85)

Carol Marie Greenwald passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the age of 85.

Carol is survived by her loving husband, Robert W. Greenwald of 64 years.  They were married in Waukesha, Wisconsin in 1954.

Carol raised a loving family of 3 children. Jeffrey Greenwald, spouse Julia, of Eugene, Oregon. Donald Greenwald, spouse Kathy, of Scottsdale, Az. Susan Davis, spouse Richard, of Fountain Hills, Az.  She is the caring grandmother to 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  She is lovingly remembered by brother in law David Greenwald, spouse Kathy, of New Berlin, WI.  96 year old brother Kenneth Wilcox of Green Bay, WI. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Carol was born in Waukesha, WI to the parents of Delbert and Eva Wilcox of Pewaukee, WI. She remained in Wisconsin where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Bob.  Shortly after, they began building their lives and growing their family. She graduated college and went into nursing. When they relocated to Scottsdale, Az in 1966 she shortly became a full time homemaker.  They purchased a home and continued to reside there to this day.

Carol has always lived with a servant’s heart.  Always making sure all around her were taken care of.  If she knew of a need, she would try to fill it.  She was never without a big smile, positive attitude, listening ear and loving arms. She was one of a kind.  She loved to camp, cook, watch the Diamond Back baseball team and cross-stich.  It wasn’t uncommon to see her babysitting a grandchild and even a great grandchild. She was a child at heart. Often laughing and smiling.  She was kind and gentle yet she was a true testament of a strong woman.  She loved her family with all her heart.  You knew you were on Santa’s good list if you got one of her pumpkin breads during the holidays.  Same with her well known potato salad.  She volunteered at her church, which was important to her and worked many hours with Bob at The Old Mission, Old Towne Scottsdale.  Whether good times or bad, she continued to bring a smile to others.

Carol lost her battle with cancer but God called her home for her healing.  She will be missed and our lives are forever changed. We are thankful for the legacy she is leaving with us and that she is no longer in pain or suffering. She is dancing with our Lord and the other angels.
