David Samuel Dale, 76, of Scottsdale, AZ was called to be with the Lord on November 20th, 2018. Dave was born January 17th, 1942 in Charlotte, MI to Marvin and Margery Dale. He is survived by his wife Susan, two sons, Stephen and Samuel, his brother Sam, daughter in law Myriah, two sisters Mary and Susan, and 3 grandchildren, Brecken, Sammy, and Jonathan. Dave met his wife Susan in Tempe, AZ while they both attended Arizona State University and enjoyed 56 years of marriage. He served in the Army for a short time before suffering an injury and being Honorably Discharged. In 1982, Dave accepted an offer to help start a new company, Scottsdale Insurance Company. He worked with SIC until his retirement in 2004 and promptly moved with his wife to Pinetop, AZ, into their dream cabin. Dave was a simple man who loved to camp and fish. He is known to have spent an entire weekend, fishing at one lake, in one spot, rarely taking his eyes off his fishing pole, waiting for the lunker. In 1987 he finally found it in a 4 pound, 19 inch rainbow trout which is still hanging above the fireplace in Pinetop. He was most happy in this environment of being outdoors until the first of 3 grandchildren were born in 1996, at which time camping and fishing trips took a backseat for trips visiting his grandchildren. Dave will be remembered for many, many things including his love, generosity, and carefree nature. A Memorial Service will be held at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Tempe, AZ on Saturday, December 8th at 11:00 am.
