James (Jim) Francis Ahearn passed away peacefully the morning of July 8, 2019 surrounded by his family.
Jim was born August 2, 1940 in Queens, New York. A graduate of
St. John’s University, he went on to a successful career with the FBI, most notably in the Organized Crime Division from 1963 to 1993. His career took him to Detroit, Tampa, Washington DC, San Francisco, Omaha, Boston and finally Phoenix. Upon retirement he was Special Agent in Charge of the Southwest territory. He then embarked on a second successful career in Indian Gaming Security.
Jim loved hiking, golf, baseball, travel, cooking, Jameson and his family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cecilia and father, John. His dad was a retired New York policeman. He has also joined his son, Jimmy, a decorated Army Major who bravely died in Bagdad in 2007.
He is survived by his remaining children, Kevin (Steven) Ahearn, Sean Ahearn, and Kelly (Brian) Kennedy and his grandchildren Private Aidan Kennedy, Sarah Kennedy, Kadi Ahearn and Abigail Ahearn.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 10815 N. 84th St, Scottsdale, AZ. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary, Scottsdale.
