MORRIS, Walter Conover of Fountain Hills, AZ and Delmar, NY passed away on April 15, 2018 at 82 years of age. He was the son of the late Richard Morris and Violet (Friedrich) Morris. Beloved husband of Patricia Morris. Loving father of Christine O’Connor and her husband John, Terri Los and her husband Zachary and Richard Morris and his wife Jayme. Cherished grandfather of Ryan and Casey O’Connor, Jeff, Alyssa and Brittany Los and Emilee Morris.
Walter graduated from the University of the South and Seton Hall Law School. Walter and Patricia recently celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary. Walter was an attorney at law for 37 years and established the firm; Morris and Hantman. He was a past president of the Denville Rotary Club and served as a Municipal Court Judge. Walter offered pro-bono legal counseling for families associated with Hope House and his legal expertise to Catholic Charities.
He also served on the Morris Hills Regional District Board of Education for many years as well as Board Member of Carnrick Labs in Cedar Knolls, NJ. Walter served as a President/Trustee of St. Peter’s Orphanage as well as serving many years on the Emla Rimelspacher Scholarship Fund as Chairman.
While living in the Scottsdale area, he was an Ambassador and Advisory Board Member for The Caring Place. He assisted Sister Barbara with family counseling and recently was a member of the Core Team of St. Patrick’s Senior Ministry. He was a man of great faith who dedicated his life to helping others.
Walter enjoyed cooking, fly fishing and cheering on the New York Mets and Giants. But his greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
