SCOTTSDALE: Wilma M. Lloyd, 95, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away on June 5, 2018. WiIma was born August 13, 1922 in Creighton, South Dakota. She is survived by her daughter, Susan and son Michael (Elly), two grandchildren, Natalie (Peter) and Seth, a sister, Carolyn and numerous nieces and nephews. Wilma was predeceased by her husband, Seth.
Wilma’s life led her across South Dakota to San Francisco, Spokane, WA, Southern California, Tempe, AZ, Lakewood CO, Brandon FL and Scottsdale, AZ. No matter where she lived Wilma was a generous, caring and non-judgmental, loving woman who always made everyone she met feel as they were very special. Invitations to join her in a glass of wine and something to nibble on were always forthcoming. Even though she cheated at Uno, family continued to invite her to play.
Widowed at a young age, Wilma took pride in developing the independence, self-sufficiency, and resilience she needed to encourage and support her family and keep their lives stable. Her smile will remain a lasting memory to us all. No one touched by Wilma’s kindness could ever forget it. The world would be a better place with more souls like Wilma’s.
A memory gathering for friends and family will be held at Messinger Indian School Mortuary on Thursday, June 14th at 1pm. Contributions in her memory can be made to Hospice of the Valley.
