Born in Phoenix, AZ on May 14, 1979. The first of four children born to Bill (Scottsdale) and Suzanne (RIP-2016). Survived by his brother William Michael (Billy), sisters Melissa Aimee (Missy), and Kimberly Helen. He attended Kachina Country Day School, Kiva Elementary, Mohave Middle School, Saguaro High School (1993-7), Mesa Community College (1997-99), and the University of California, Berkeley (1999-2001)At Saguaro he lettered in football (O and D-line), basketball (designated fouler), and baseball (pitcher). Was on football and basketball state championship teams as a junior. After two seasons at MCC, he playedO-line at Cal for two years, obtaining his degree in 2001.After college he returned home to AZ and pursued his passion for football by coaching first at Saguaro and then at Chandler. He was part of multiple state championship teams at both schools where he was the strength and conditioning coach, as well as offensive line coach. He created "Chickwando", combining martial arts concepts with offensive blocking techniques. His greatest pleasure was seeing his guys get recruited to play at the next level. While at Chandler he also coached offense for the Fighting Artichokes of Scottsdale Community College. His hunger for football knowledge was insatiable. His intelligence, persistence, and sense of humor combined to make him a prolific talker. He prided himself on his creativity and never tired of discussing the intricacies of football. He passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep from heart failure on May 27, 2021.
A public celebration of his life will be held on June 17, 2021, at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort, at 6:00 p.m.
