Larry Zola Moss
Beloved Husband, Father and Friend to Many
Larry and Gail were high school sweethearts that fell in love from the very start through many ups and downs, to the very end. Those who knew Larry felt instantly loved and close to him right from the start. He always had a smile on his face and the love of helping family and friends was his passion.
Larry was an active and loving Father and Grandfather. He loved building memories with his children and grandchildren, from one-on-one time to major family festivities. Over the past 30 years, the family spent summer vacations in San Clemente with family traditions of Gail’s famous “Seven Layer Bar”, beach bonfires and boogie boarding. Larry was the Patriarch of his family and was a devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather and his loss is devastating to the many that loved him.
Working with many friends and colleagues at Westcor (now the Macerich Company), Larry took great pride in serving the needs of his many clients and friends, as well as supporting Westcor in becoming one of the leading commercial real estate developers in the Southwest. His clients, colleagues and friends always loved him and enjoyed his perpetual smile.
As Larry & Gail traveled the country and abroad, the opportunities to build life experiences were always treasured, as Larry and Gail always had a love of life. Following the tragic loss of Gail from a snorkeling accident in the Grand Cayman Islands on March 9, 2017, Larry bravely persevered, carrying with him a feeling of deep loss from which he never fully recovered.
Larry was a man of character and principle, with a passion for the game of football, a casual dignity and the gift of making those around him feel welcome. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, sister, father & mother in-law and Grandson Alec.
He is survived by his son A.J. “Jeff” & Cindy Moss, daughter Ilene & Jeff McKenna, brother Mel Moss and his family: Ronda, Lee, Sarah and Philip Schnoor and Brian Moss, niece Gina Mundt, and brother John & Marge Kelly and their daughters Kara Kelly & Kristi Kelly-Temple. He is also survived by his four adoring grandchildren Connor & Katie McKenna and Sarah & Mitchel Moss, and his littlest love puppy, Mic Moss.
