Richard Henry Lopez, 65, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on September 6, 2021. Richard was born August 16,1956 in Carlsbad, NM to Henry and Mary Faye Lopez and was the eldest of four children. Richard spent his early adulthood serving in the United States Marines Corps in the military police corps. After his military service, he worked as a utility engineer until he retired in 2018. Richard had two children whom he deeply loved, Mario Lopez (San Bernadino, CA) and Cheyanne Flores-Lopez (Mesa, AZ). He had two grandsons Jessie Campbell (San Bernadino, CA) and Vinny Campbell (San Bernadino, CA) and was expecting a great grand baby. Richard enjoyed spending his days hunting, fishing and catching the newest movie in theatres. He was most happy when he was outdoors on a horse, at a pond fishing, or spending time with his friends watching live music. Richard is preceded in death by his father, Henry Lopez. Richard is survived by his mother Mary Faye Lopez (Phoenix, AZ), son Mario Lopez (San Bernadino, CA), daughter Cheyanne Flores-Lopez (Mesa, AZ), brothers Robert Lopez (Phoenix, AZ) and Anthony Lopez (Alaska), sister DeLoris Scherchligt (Rio Verde, AZ), two grandchildren Jesse Campbell (San Bernadino, CA) and Vinny Campbell (San Bernadino, CA) and numerous nieces and nephews. Richard will be remembered most for his sense of humor, love for the outdoors, good food and a good movie. Funeral arrangements will be held at Messinger Indian School Mortuary on Saturday, September 25th at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be at Messinger Indian School Mortuary on Friday, September 24th at 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM..
